Millet XTrail Courchevel 2025: 1,700 participants

1,700 participants at the Millet XTrail Courchevel 2025!

1,700 participants at the Millet XTrail Courchevel 2025!

After a majestic start by headlamp at 5.30 am, the sun rose over the summits to illuminate the legendary course of the Millet XTrail Courchevel, which once again brought together mountain lovers on Sunday 27 July.

In an idyllic setting of forests, passes and alpine pastures in the Vanoise National Park, the runners lived an extraordinary adventure through a now-emblematic concept: one start, 6 distances, total freedom. 26 nations and 98 French départements were represented among the 1,700 participants who set off together in a mass start, with a simple idea: find your limit.

The “Find your limit” concept: choosing your distance… during the race

With 6 distances to choose from (11, 22, 33, 44, 55 and 66 km), but a single price and a single start, each runner could decide on their distance according to the cut-off times. A hybrid and inclusive format, where freedom, listening to yourself and adaptability count as much as performance.

Top-class performances on the 66 km

Among the men, Thibaut Witvoet , who finished 3rd in the 55 km in 2024, took the 2025 XTrailer title by winning the 66 km / 4,100 m of elevation gain in 7h39min53s. “It was complicated. At kilometre 17, my pole broke and, at the end of the 55 km, Clément Mugnier caught up with me. I managed to get another pole for the last 11-kilometre loop and things went better. The course is exceptional, with the crossing of the col de la Grande Pierre and the col du Râteau,” he said at the finish. He finished ahead of Gonzague Davrot , credited with 7h53min37s, and Nicolas Raybaud, a regular at the resort’s sporting events, in 7h58min01s.

Among the women, the feat was achieved by Réunion Island’s Marion Zaradzki , winner of the 66 km in 9h36min with the title of 2025 XTraileuse. “I fell in love with this race last year. I had finished second in the 66 km behind Blandine L’Hirondel and I wanted to do it again because it is very demanding. It is perfect for preparing for the Grand Raid de la Réunion,” she told us in essence once she had crossed the line. Gaëlle Loridat in 10h04min37s took the 2nd step of the podium ahead of former Belgian Koh Lanta contestant Helena Roosen, 3rd in 10h30min49s.

Marie Dohin and Clément Mugnier at the top in the 55 km

Marie Dohin won the 55 km in an excellent 7h52min17s, ahead of the 2 future 66 km winners, Marion Zaradzki, second in 7h59min19s, and Gaelle Loridat, 3rd in 8h13min02s.

It was at the finish that Clément Mugnier snatched the win among the men in 6h11min27s. 1 minute 17 seconds later, Thibaut Witvoet took second place before flying off on the 66 km. Belgium’s Guillaume Deneffe completed the podium in 6h34min03s.

The ski mountaineers sweep the board in the 44 km

“The course is really cool, superbly marked. Being able to branch off at any time changes the pace of the race and that’s what is nice because you don’t know who is in front. You run your own race at your own pace. I’ll be back next year to do the 55 km, but this year the 44 km was perfect for preparing for the OCC,” said Gédéon Pochat , who won over this distance in 4h28min49s ahead of Antoine Gérard (4h56min32s) and Louis Travaillot (5h02min15s).

“It’s so good. I often come to Courchevel to do the Millet Ski Touring Courchevel in ski mountaineering and I was really surprised by the course, the organisation was so cool, full mountain with rocks, ridges, a bit of snow… Everything was there, just too beautiful.” That was the reaction of Marie Charlotte Iratzoquy , winner of the 44 km with a time of 5h43min22s. Julie Baverel came second in 6h03min24s, and Laura Huet completed the podium in 6h19min58s.

Fleury Roux and Elise Guillot win the 33 km

Second in the 33 km in 2024, Fleury Roux took his revenge and won in 3h26min23s. “I didn’t have great feelings on the first climb. When I got to the ridges, I was third. On the descent, I felt really good. I gradually accelerated and I think I overtook the other 2 at kilometre 20. I’m happy because I did a better time than last year.” The places of honour were taken by Arthur Polot-Doco, second in 3h29min00s, and Corentin Fischer, third in 3h31min29s.

“The 33 km was my initial goal. At the top of the ridges with this format, I was tempted to carry on because I felt good. But with the GRP in 3 weeks, I limited myself to the 33,” admitted Élise Guillot, winner of the distance in 4h27min32s ahead of Camille Ancey (4h35min39s) and Eugénie Hezard (5h04min43s).

The 22 km for Sylvain Chevalier and Alice Verkinit

Track specialist Sylvain Chevalier won the 22 km in 2h12min39s: “I’ve just finished my season over 5,000 metres and I wanted to come and test myself on this trail race. I’m delighted. I wasn’t expecting the steps on the descent of the col de la Chal.”

Vincent Loustau of Team Vibram, with 4 podiums this year at the MSTC, finished second in 2h18min35s ahead of Tristan Vachat credited with 2h21min55s.

“Since the Paris marathon, I haven’t really trained. The 22 km was perfect for me. At the top of the Dent du Villard, it was magnificent. Everyone was taking their phones out to take photos,” said Alice Verkinit , who won in 3h16min29s. She finished ahead of Valentine Gladys (3h21min51s) and Bénédicte Ruyer (3h24min28s).

Manon Savoye and Josué Lobry win their first trail race

A masterstroke for Manon Savoye : “I started trail running 2 weeks ago.” She won the 11 km in 1h19min27s. The other podium places were fought over by Laurène Lorthioir in 1h21min55s, who pipped the Dutchwoman Claudette Ritsemaat the finish, 3rd in 1h22min14s.

Josué Lobry had the distinguished honour of being the first to cross the finish line of this 2025 edition of the Millet XTrail Courchevel after 55min51s of racing. He won the 11 km ahead of ski mountaineer Edgar Cognaud (1h02min28s) and Lucas Cachot (1h04min42s)

An event where everyone writes their own story

Beyond the times, it is the human experiences, the solidarity on the trails, the sublime landscapes and the warm atmosphere that make the Millet XTrail Courchevel a very special event. The volunteers, organisers and companions once again helped make this edition a highlight of the summer season.

On to 2026…

With a concept that appeals more and more, a high-calibre field and a smooth, well-oiled organisation, the Millet XTrail Courchevel is establishing itself as a benchmark mountain event. See you in 2026 for a new edition that promises to be memorable!
