XXL PERFORMANCES AT THE TOP OF THE SKI JUMP

Courchevel was once again the stage for an extraordinary sporting challenge. For this 5th edition of Red Bull 400, athletes pushed their limits over the steepest 400 metres in the world. In the men’s race, Julien Petitfrère won in 3'30, showing impressive power - despite having only taken up trail running a year ago - ahead of Etienne Loisel (3'33) and Baptiste Ellmenreich (3'35). In the women’s race, Marine Coquard battled to win the final in 4'49, taking victory in this demanding format, ahead of Maelle Beauvir (4'56) and Aurélie Aventurier (5'13). In the relay category, Team Grand Peron dominated the mixed relay with a time of 2'40, thanks to perfectly executed handovers. Just behind, Team No Rain No Rice came 2nd (2'42), closely followed by Team Les 4 Mousquetons (2'44).

A SELECTIVE RACE FORMAT… AND FULL

Red Bull 400 2025 was fully booked with 1,300 participants from 23 different nationalities. The climb of the Courchevel Olympic ski jump took place in several elimination stages, guaranteeing a high level in the final.

The semi-finals: the first big cuts

. In the men’s race: the 10 winners of each heat and the next 65 best times were qualified for the semi-finals, a total of 225 athletes.
. In the women’s race: the first 10 of the heats and the 50 best remaining times went through to the semi-finals, making 90 athletes.

The finals: the ultimate climb for the best

The semi-finals then separated the best athletes to make up the starting grid for the two big finals (men and women), bringing together a total of 90 finalists.

. In the men’s race: 45 finalists. 5 semi-finals were run. The first 3 of each semi-final qualified automatically (15 athletes), joined by the 30 best remaining times, across all semi-finals (excluding the top 3 already qualified).
. In the women’s race: 45 finalists. 2 semi-finals took place. The first 5 of each race earned their direct ticket (10 athletes), and the next 35 best times completed the list of finalists (excluding the top 5 already qualified).

This system, combining qualification by place and by time, ensures that the fastest reach the final, whatever their heat. A demanding mechanism, designed to bring out the most explosive… and the most consistent profiles.
