Success will once again be there for this 2015 edition of the mountain-version triathlon “Dynastar X3® Courchevel”, organised by the association “Courchevel Sports Alpinisme” on Sunday 19 April.

To complete this mountain triathlon, unique in the Alps, triathletes will have to link together, from 10 am, solo or in a relay team of three, a 13.9 km cycling leg (930 m of elevation gain) up to Courchevel 1850 where the base camp for changing disciplines will be set up, then continue with a 6.3 km trail running leg (180 m of elevation gain and loss) and finish with a 4.8 km ski mountaineering leg (950 m of elevation gain) up to the finish, where a Hawaiian atmosphere awaits the runners with the presentation of flower garlands.
This unprecedented concept will allow the best specialists to fight for victory and amateurs to discover an exceptional setting, starting from the lowest point of the Courchevel resort at Le Carrey (830 m) and finishing at the highest point on the Saulire (2,710 m). At the finish, participants will be able to enjoy a Savoyard buffet prepared by the starred hotel Le Chabichou.
- For the “Solo” event, the men’s and women’s podiums will be rewarded with DYNASTAR prizes. For the best men’s and women’s times: a pair of “Pierra Menta Race Carbon” skis worth €899
- For the “Trio” event, the top 3 men’s, women’s and mixed teams will be rewarded with DYNASTAR prizes. For the best men’s, women’s and mixed Trio times: €150 prize money + a DYNASTAR prize.
- The men’s and women’s record in each discipline (cycling / trail running / ski mountaineering) will be rewarded with DYNASTAR prizes and €50 prize money.
Already more than 200 entrants and a fine field of athletes announced for this new edition, with world champions from every discipline at the start
After winning the 2014 edition as a team, Laurent Brochard (road cycling world champion in 1997), Erik Clavery (trail running world champion in 2011) and Mathéo Jacquemoud (ski mountaineering world champion in 2013) will take part this year in the Solo.
The favourite will unquestionably be the 2014 solo winner, Yoann Sert, who will come to defend his title.
Among the women, the presence of Laetitia Roux, multiple ski mountaineering world champion, will make victory difficult for the other competitors. Stéphanie Duc, winner of the 2013 edition (6th at the world championships and French trail running champion in 2013) and Caroline Freslon Bette, a former international rower, will be on the lookout to contest the top places on the podium.
Cédric Fleureton, European triathlon vice-champion and French trail running champion, can spring a surprise, as can Nicolas Raybaud, a Specialized cyclosportive rider and Haute Route ambassador. Fabien Antolinos, French trail running vice-champion in 2011 and 2013 and champion in 2012, winner of the Saintélyon, the Eco-trail and the 6000D in 2011 and the Templiers in 2012, 2nd in the ITT and the Maxi Race in 2014 and winner of the Sainte Victoire trail in 2014, should also make his mark.
Jean-Christophe Bette, the most decorated rower in French rowing, with a gold medal at the Sydney Olympic Games and five world champion titles to his name, as well as Jérémy Pouge, rowing world champion in 2004 and 2005, will also be among the favourites after a fine switch to the world of trail running.
Between now and 19 April, other heavyweights of French and international sport should come and sign up for the Dynastar X3® Courchevel.
