“Super Moon” for the Final of the Dynafit MOONtain Races Courchevel 2014.

The final of the Dynafit MOONtain Races Courchevel 2014 will take place on Tuesday 9 September 2014 and it will be the last climb of this night trail (9.3 km / 100 m of descent and 800 m of elevation gain) to the Grand Plan refuge before a new, equally original race appears from summer 2015. To close the season with a flourish, it will be possible to admire a full moon brighter than usual because it will be closer to the Earth. This phenomenon, called a "Super Moon", is extremely rare, and at the finish of this “SUPER MOONtain Races” the participants will have a unique opportunity to gaze at this star at 2,300 metres of altitude with an unrivalled view of the Vanoise glaciers.

For this 4th stage and last climb of the season, registration will be free for all participants who come in fancy dress, and at the end of the event the season’s record holders, man and woman, will be presented with the Lionel Blanc trophy as well as prize money of €500 (the provisional records are currently held by Jules Lapierre in 51min560s and Corail Bugnard in 1h00min42s). The title of “Region Series Alpes 2014 Skyrunning” will be awarded to the man and woman with the most points, with a cheque of €150 for the winners, €100 for the runners-up and €50 for the third places (for the moment, Charly Allerme leads with 89 points and Corail Bugnard with 67 points). Many prizes will be drawn by lot and the traditional soup from the cauldron prepared by Emily Roux and Bernard Chardon will also be on the menu.
