The 17th season of the Millet Ski Touring Courchevel is under way
The 2026 season of the Millet Ski Touring Courchevel (MSTC) came to a close last week with the great fancy-dress final and a magnificent concert by Ofenbach, bringing together nearly 2,000 participants and spectators in a festive atmosphere.
Buoyed by this enthusiasm, and given the excellent snow conditions currently on the official course linking Courchevel Le Praz to Courchevel 1850, Guillaume Prin, president of the organising club Courchevel Sports Outdoor, and his whole team of volunteers decided to open the 2027 season early.
A decision that delighted the 117 competitors at the start of the first round of the 17th edition of the MSTC.
Vincent Loustau gets off to a great start
The counters have been reset and the age categories updated for this first round of the 17th edition. At the end of this vertical race of 3.2 km and 500 m of elevation gain, and after 5 podiums including 2 wins and 3 second places in the 16th edition, Vincent Loustau begins this new edition with an undisputed victory.
Wearing bib 1, he sets the first reference time of 24 min 16 s. He finishes ahead of the Pole Sebastian Druszkiewicz, a long-standing employee of the partner shop Le Camp de Base, credited with 25 min 27 s. Hugo Cocrelle completes the podium in 26 min 57 s, his best performance of the season.
Jean-Christophe Bette, Olympic rowing champion at the 2000 Summer Olympic Games in Sydney, finishes just off the podium in 27 min 10 s.
Worthy of note is the superb time of Ugo Pellicier 31 min 28 s, who takes the lead in the provisional overall standings in the U16 category, and Gaspard Figliolini, who with a time of 30 min 51 s sets the reference time in the U18 category.
An international podium in the women’s race to start the 2027 edition
After a fine battle, the Spaniard Lula Martinez Perez wins in 30 min 35 s, 7 seconds ahead of the Italian Martina Giachino (30 min 42 s). These two MSTC regulars are joined on the podium by Géraldine Bau, 3rd in 32 min 57 s. The latter takes the lead in the provisional overall standings of the 2027 Société des 3 Vallées challenge.
Véronique Laturaz makes a notable comeback with 4th place in 33 min 07 s. Special mention to Elodie Lambert, 5th in 36 min 41 s, having taken part in every round of the 2026 season.
In this context, Lula Martinez Perez and Vincent Loustau don the first virtual yellow jerseys of the 2027 season.
A 17th edition that promises to be phenomenal
This first round points to a promising season. The competition will resume on Wednesday 23 December and continue until the great fancy-dress final scheduled for early March 2027, accompanied by a concert that will once again leave its mark.
The resort will also host a round of the Ski Mountaineering World Cup during the second half of January 2027.
Many surprises will also be on the programme of this new season, which is shaping up under the best auspices.
In the meantime, Courchevel Sports Outdoor invites you to its last 2 sporting events of the winter: on 12 April for the Dynastar X3 Courchevel (a sequence of cycling, trail running and ski mountaineering) and on 19 April for the Derbike Courchevel (a downhill bike ride from the summit of the Saulire to Courchevel Le Praz).
Next date: Wednesday 23 December 2026 – Millet Ski Touring Courchevel
