Act 7 - MILLET SKI TOURING OURCHEVEL - Wednesday 28 January 2015
New record for Charlotte Le Roux and victory for Rémi Berchet in the 7th Millet Ski Touring Courchevel.
New record for Charlotte Le Roux and victory for Rémi Berchet in the 7th Millet Ski Touring Courchevel.

For this 7th stage of the Millet Ski Touring Courchevel on Wednesday 28 January, 106 participants were at the start of this ski touring climb, organised every Wednesday until 25 March on a Vertical Race course of 3.2 km and 500 m of elevation gain. From 6 pm, the start was given in time-trial format at Le Praz, allowing beginners to get a little head start before the "rockets" were launched. After crossing the finish line on the snow front of Courchevel 1850, the exhausted but delighted runners gathered around a good aid station at the Croisette, each commenting on his or her race, always with the aim of finding ways to do better next time.
A race whose concept is addictive from the very first participation: almost nobody has done it only once. Many come back regularly to try to beat their personal record or do better than a friend, within a shorter or longer timeframe during the season or in a previous year for holidaymakers loyal to this competition. The "Millet Ski Touring Courchevel" is excellent for your health and can be consumed without moderation.
Since the launch of this new season of the Millet Ski Touring Courchevel, everyone knows or has seen Charlotte Le Roux, who is in the spotlight on the official poster of the 2015 Millet Ski Touring Courchevel. In this 7th stage, the skier from ESF Le Grand Bornand took the lead of the women’s overall standings by setting a new provisional record of 32min20s. Géraldine Bau came second in 33min34s and Corine Chauchaix of ESF Arêches placed third in 34min43s.
Rémi Berchet turned in the best performance of the evening with a time of 25min32s ahead of William Perrier of the Club Courchevel Sports Alpinisme and member of the French team in 25min50s. Arnaud Mazet completed the podium in 26min38s.
With a time of 28min06s, Benjamin Bade of ESF Courchevel 1550 set the best time of the ESF challenge, and with her new record, Charlotte Le Roux, an instructor at Le Grand Bornand, moved to the top of the women’s ESF ranking.
Also worth noting was the first participation of Laurent Setiey, director of the agency "Vallat Immobilier", partner of the event, who finished with a reference time of 38min57s.
The Brazilian Armando Pires finished in 38min01s. On holiday in Courchevel, this accomplished sportsman, delighted with the organisation, will return specially on 19 April to take part in the mountain triathlon "Dynastar X3 Courchevel", combining cycling, trail and ski mountaineering.
2nd Grand Slam this week.
In the weeks when the MILLET SKI TOURING COURCHEVEL (MSTC) and the PLUM KV COURCHEVEL (PKVC) are organised, a ranking is drawn up for those who complete the “Grand Slam” (taking part in the 2 events in the same week).
This week, the "Grand Slam" will take into account the combined times of this 7th MSTC and the times of the PKVC on Friday 30 January. In the 1st Grand Slam, held in the first week of January, 28 competitors had completed both races. After adding the times together, Benjamin Bade had set the best time in 1h22min31s and Véronique Lathuraz had won among the women in 1h39min58s.
