The buzz around the Millet Ski Touring Courchevel was there once again for this 10th round of the season, with 162 ski mountaineers present. The enthusiasm for this time-trial Vertical Race on this 3.2 km course with 500 metres of elevation gain, offered for 5 years, attracts more and more fans of all levels. This competition allows amateurs to come and enjoy themselves every Wednesday in a friendly, festive atmosphere, but also lets specialists fight for the record. Until the final on 25 March, the battle for the places of honour is far from over, because, thanks to the race’s official partner “Millet”, the top places will be richly endowed, with €8,000 in prize money and €4,800 in vouchers to be won!

This year, the season record holders of the 2014 – 2015 MSTC will be presented on Wednesday 25 March at the final with the “Raymond & René Millet” Trophy, named after the founders of Millet, and €2,000 in prize money. The 2nd best scratch times (man and woman) will be rewarded with €1,250 in prize money and the 3rd best scratch times (man and woman) with €750 in prize money.

The best men’s and women’s times in each category of the 2014 - 2015 season will receive vouchers (public price, excluding sale items) for Millet products at the Camp de Base shop in the Forum at Courchevel 1850. For the Benjamin, Minime and Cadet categories: €200 voucher. For the Junior and Espoir categories: €300 voucher, and for the Senior, Veteran and “Senior-Veteran” (60 and over) categories: €400 voucher.

In this 10th round, it was Yoann Sert who set the best time in 23min02s, followed by Florent Perrier in 23min35s and Gary Ozeray of ESF Peisey in 24min44. Among the women, Charlotte Le Roux of ESF Le Grand Bornand came out victorious in 32min33s ahead of Véronique Lathuraz (32min58s) and Christine Gachet (34min04s).

Next Wednesday (25 February), a TF1 film crew will be present to make a report on the race. But before that, the runners have a date this Friday 20 February to take part in the ski touring Vertical Kilometre in the 3rd round of the “Plum KV Courchevel”, and this week all competitors present at this 10th round of the Millet Ski Touring Courchevel can do the Grand Slam by taking part on Friday in the “Plum KV Courchevel”.

3rd Grand Slam this week.

In the weeks when the MILLET SKI TOURING COURCHEVEL (MSTC) and the PLUM KV COURCHEVEL (PKVC) are organised, a ranking is drawn up for those who complete the “Grand Slam” (taking part in the 2 events in the same week).

This week, the “3rd Grand Slam” will take into account the combined times of the MSTC on Wednesday 18 February and the PKVC times on Friday 20 February. The “Grand Slam” records are for the moment held by William Perrier in 1h13min50s and Géraldine Bau in 1h37min03s.
