For this 9th stage of the DSTC on Wednesday 29 January, 101 male and female ski mountaineers were present to climb the 3.2 km and 500 m of elevation gain between Le Praz and Courchevel 1850. With a time of 27min52s, Charly Allerme of the club “Courchevel Sports Mountaineering” posted the best time of the evening ahead of Steeve Dobert of the 13th BCA (27min56s) and Mathieu Perrin (39min16s). Nicolas Mater of ESF Courchevel 1550 finished just off the podium and won the ESF Challenge standings in 29min59s. Among the women, it was Elisa Gayet (Pyrénées Catalane) who led the event in 32min29s, leaving behind Alexia Zuberer (Caf Vanoise) in 33min07s and Pauline Caillet (ESF Courchevel 1850), who took the lead of the women’s standings for this 9th stage of the ESF Challenge in 37min19s.

Already 1,082 starts and 733 participants ranked!

Halfway through season 4 of the DSTC, Guillaume Prin , president of the association “Courchevel Sports Mountaineering”, organiser of the event, draws a very positive assessment with already 1,082 starts and 733 different participants ranked since 11 December. “At the halfway point, we have almost managed to match the number of participants we had last year over the whole season (1,377 starts and 785 ranked participants). The DSTC has become the essential benchmark for Vertical Race since the organisation of the French Championships for 2 years and the World Cup this year. More and more people come every Wednesday, and what is great is to see the best specialists in the world but also amateurs and holidaymakers, many of whom are trying this discipline for the first time. It is also a good opportunity for all the locals to meet up and share a sporting and friendly moment,” Guillaumeconfided to us. A genuine success for the resort of Courchevel, which can now be proud of the work accomplished by the volunteers of the association “Courchevel Sports Mountaineering” for 4 years.
