Opening of the Dynafit Ski Touring Courchevel 2014 on 11/12/13

This Friday 6 December, Guillaume Prin, president of the association “Courchevel Sports Mountaineering”, brought together his whole team of volunteers to prepare the organisation of the 4th season of the Dynafit Ski Touring Courchevel (DSTC). To make a success of this event, which is a genuine hit every year, 19 volunteers will be hard at work every Wednesday evening of the winter from 11 December to 26 March.

For 3 years, the DSTC has been the benchmark race in ski mountaineering and the race that brings together the most participants in France, with 1,377 starts and 781 ranked competitors last year.

The starting signal for this 3.2 km ski mountaineering time-trial climb with 500 m of elevation gain will be given on Wednesday 11 December (11/12/13) at 6 pm at Le Praz.

16 dates are planned this year. The best specialists of the discipline can come and fight for the season record or fine-tune their training. As for all ski mountaineering enthusiasts, they will have the opportunity to ski in an exceptional setting, by the light of a headlamp.

Another opportunity will be given to runners to be included in the DSTC overall standings during the World Cup Vertical Race and the Open Millet French Cup event on Sunday 26 January. Indeed, the Vertical Race course will be identical and their time will count towards the overall standings.

Mathéo Jacquemoud will open the season

The ambassador of this new season, Mathéo Jacquemoud, member of the French ski mountaineering team and licensed with “Courchevel Sports Mountaineering”, will be at the start of this first climb of the season. With 4 world champion titles in 2013 and the 2013 DSTC record in 22min40s, Mathéo will surely set the bar very high!

The 3 best overall times for men and women on each climb will be rewarded with DYNAFIT prizes, followed by a draw among all the participants.

For the best men’s and women’s time of the season: €500 prize money in vouchers for the shop LE CAMP DE BASE and a pair of DYNAFIT Race boots ‘Dy.N.A. Evo’ worth €1,200.
