A lovely starry evening for the 38 ski mountaineers present this Wednesday 13 February at the 11th round of the Dynafit Ski Touring Courchevel (DSTC), which starts from Le Praz and finishes at Courchevel 1850 after covering 3.2 km and 500 metres of elevation gain. Since the start of the season, many runners of different nationalities have taken the start of these climbs, and for the first time since the DSTC began, a Lebanese runner was among the participants. For 39min10s by the light of his headtorch, Lebanese Sarmad Zok got a taste of the joys of this discipline, accompanied by his ski instructor Romain Tabouret , finishing just two seconds behind Laurent Setiey, director of the estate agency Vallat Immobilier. Also worth highlighting is the performance of Dutchman Ansgar Brenninkmeger , who refused to give up after suffering the ski mountaineer’s worst nightmare, losing a climbing skin halfway up and forcing him to walk with his skis on his back for long minutes.

On the podiums, Yoann Sert of the Arêches Beaufort Multisport Club won for the second time in a row in 24min56s, widening the gap on David Lacoste , who took second place in 26min18s, and Julien Poquet of the Courchevel Sports Alpinisme club, who took third position in 26min44s.

Among the girls, Eva Laplace won in 37min50s ahead of Mireille Bartnicki of CAF Albertville in 38min13s and Pauline Ferrand in 38min51s.

Among the local sportspeople, the battle continues for Philippe Mugnier , deputy mayor of Courchevel, who is getting close to the 40-minute mark with a new record of 42min45s. The same fight for Michèle Mongellaz , who finished in 45min54s just behind Jean-Marc Sullice , who did not finish without improving his personal record with a time of 45min06s.

From next week, with the school holidays and the end of the ski mountaineering world championships currently being held in the southern Alps, the number of entrants should rise again and the race for the season record should also be restarted with the arrival of the top names of the discipline.
