Put on your touring skis and come and take part in the 2012 Telethon challenge.

While waiting for the Dynafit Ski Touring Courchevel to open on 12 December, the association “Courchevel Sports Alpinisme”, in collaboration with the “Lions Club Tarentaise”, invites you all to meet on Friday 7 December from 5 pm at the Chabichou in Courchevel 1850 to take on the first challenge of the season for the Telethon: covering 50,000 metres of elevation gain in 3 hours on a 1,200 m course with 110 m of elevation gain on ski mountaineering gear (registration on site: €5). Spectators can also take part in the challenge by buying metres of elevation gain: €1 for 20 m.

To fulfil the challenge, the elevation gain accumulated by each competitor during the 3 hours of the race will be counted towards the 50,000 m. Each participant can do as many laps as they like and start whenever they wish between 5 pm and 7:30 pm.

The finish will be INSIDE the restaurant Le Chabotté, with a rock concert and plenty of entertainment.

All of this will be filmed and some footage may be selected for Stéphane Berne’s programme on 8 December.

Children can also get involved on snowshoes from 6 pm, on a small loop dotted with obstacles: €1 = 1 loop. Their challenge is to do as many loops as possible to bring in as many donations as possible for the Telethon.
