ROUND 6 - DYNAFIT SKI TOURING COURCHEVEL - 18 January 2012

6th round for Stéphanie Duc and Sébastien Fayolle.

Wednesdays follow one another and look alike for Stéphanie Duc, who wins this 3.2 km ski mountaineering climb with 500 metres of elevation gain for the 3rd time this year. Among the 46 competitors entered in this 6th round of the Dynafit Ski Touring Courchevel (DSTC), Stéphanie of the Courchevel Sports Alpinisme club won the women’s race in 31min15s, improving her previous record by 1 minute, and keeps second place in the women’s provisional overall standings behind Corinne Favre (29min31s). Claude Chenal with a time of 39min11s finished second in the race ahead of Anne-Marie Henrion of the Caf Albertville (44min00s).

Among the men, it was with a time of 25min40s that Sébastien Fayolle of the Caf Albertville took the lead ahead of Steven Blanc (28min) and Yannick Aboulikam (28min28s), both of the Club Multisports d’Arêches-Beaufort.

While all these runners come to try to take the record and win, at the final on 4 April, the €500 prize money in vouchers for the shop ''Le camp de base'', a pair of Dynafit ''Dy.N.A EVO'' ski touring boots worth €1,200 and a Silva X-Trail head torch, others such as Jean-Marc Sullice, Christian Arnal or Laurent Setiey, not forgetting Pierre Gruneberg (81 years old), come to set their time and enjoy themselves.

Next Wednesday, three days before the French ski mountaineering championship in the Vertical Race event (28 January), the discipline’s best should be present among all the participants, and a team from the national channel France 3 will be there to cover this 7th round of the DSTC. The report will be broadcast just before the February holidays.
