ROUND 5 - DYNAFIT SKI TOURING COURCHEVEL - 5 January 2011
Still as many ski mountaineering enthusiasts.
Still as many ski mountaineering enthusiasts.

For this 5th stage, 53 ski touring fans set off from Le Praz over the 3.2 km and 500 m of elevation gain separating the start from the finish on the Courchevel 1850 snow front. The Dynafit Ski Touring Courchevel attracts more and more nations: the Russians and the British were still there and this time we had the pleasure of welcoming our Italian neighbours. We had the honour of seeing among the participants Manu Gaidet, the triple freeride world champion, who completed the climb in 1h00min01s. Among the women, Daniele Bonnevie, a Vanoise National Park warden based in Méribel, finished on the top step of the podium in 37min25s ahead of Lola Ferrand in 44min13s and Juliette Claye in 46min45s. Among the men, Adelin Favre of the CAF Haut Giffre won in 26min24s ahead of Cyrille Gardet in 26min27s and Anthony Fraissard in 26min59s.
For the occasion, Mr Vincent Rolland, vice-president of the Savoie departmental council, came to reward all these athletes.
Also worth noting are the fine performances of our Courchevel representatives, who finished in the top 10, starting with Denis Metge who took 4th place in 28min16s, Cédric Cunin 6th place in 28min47s, Nicolas Mater 8th place in 29min11s and Frédéric Bouchage 10th place in 29min57s.
To close the evening, the board of the Courchevel Sports Alpinisme association invited all the volunteers of the climb to celebrate the new year over a small cocktail.
